The Sang Zani in the Ghohestan area in the County of South Khorasan is one of the mourning ceremonies in the month of Moharam.
"Alam Gardani", the Spiritual Rituals of Southern Khorasan's People in the Muharram
Flag Parade (Alam Gardani) is a Mourning ceremony in county of South Khorasan. Many years ago when important persons died and later formed beliefs of the Islamic religion, the colour and shape of religious traditions were implemented as one of the mourning methods during the month of Muharram.. In this event some of the persons who keep the flags known as Alam chi, and holy leaders on the funeral procession carry the flags to the people’s houses and make offerings.
The Alam is the most important tool in the implementation in the Muharram mourning ceremonies. In each part of the county to sign the name of each of the Alams for Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions and each of the alams is the symbol of each person.
Shovel or Spade Ceremony (Bill Zani) is the only event in the month of Muharram which is not held in every township. This ceremony is held only in Khousf at noon of the day of Ashoura.
The Blond or Desert Crow is a bird from the Crow family. This bird has many differences with other relatives of crows, such that it can be noted for its terrestrial so that even when alarmed it prefers to run and not fly. Having a good voice and buff terracotta is another feature of this bird.
The Lut Desert as the First Natural Effect of Iran has been Recorded on UNESCO World Heritage List
The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Administration of South Khorasan , Mr. Ramezani said: 'The Lut Desert as the first natural effect of Iran and as the third effect in the County has been recorded on World Heritage List of UNESCO.
The Director General of Cultural Heritages, Handicrafts and Tourism of the County of South Khorasan announced: 'The Baladeh Subterranean of Ferdows as the second important effect of County has been recorded on World Heritage List of UNESCO'.
The first session of excavations at the Takhchar Abad Hills was done in 2009 which led to the identification of an adobe building, which was completely filled with alternating layers of stone and brick and where the monument was covered with sand from public view.
From a report from the Public Relations Department of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Administration of the County of South Khorasan, the liable of Research section of this Administration said: Drumming ceremonies before sunrise and at sunset (Eftar) in the month of Ramedan is to wake up the people for praying and to know that the sun has set and sunrise has different times. Near the drummers are Fenjan- keshe’s who sit to tell them the times.
The Ambassador of Denmark with Mr Ibrahimi the Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Khorasan on the 24/05/2016 was the guest of Mr. Ramazani the Director General of Cultural Heritages, Handicrafts and Tourism of the County and they have visited the world complex of the Akbariyeh Garden and Mansion Museums with the comprehensive descriptions of Mr. Ramazani.
From a report from the Public Relations Department of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Administration of South Khorasan, the World Complex of the Akbariyeh Garden and Mansion of Birjand which is one of the most historical and index buildings of Birjand and the main destination of the Ambassadors and Foreign Tourists, and in 2011 with the other 8 Iranian Gardens were registered on the World heritage List and consist of Anthropology, Archeology, National Figures and Wild Life Museums of the County.
The Ambassador of Denmark while visiting the Museum of the World Complex of Akbarieh also visited the exhibition of handmade carpets. He and Mr. Ramazani also visited the Exhibitions of 'Introducing the World Heritage Akbariyah Garden and Lut Desert Offices' and 'Refurbished Objects' which holds collections to commemorate the International Day of Museums and Cultural Heritage Week.
