The Blond Crow is the only Endomic Bird in Iran

 The Blond or Desert Crow is a bird from the Crow family. This bird has many differences with other relatives of crows, such that it can be noted for its terrestrial so that even when alarmed it prefers to run and not fly. Having a good voice and buff terracotta is another feature of this bird.

From the report of the Public Relations Department of Cultural Heritages, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of the County of South Khorasan: 'This Blond Crow is about 24 cm in body length and has a long tail and black beak slightly curved downwards, with Pea brown colored feathers. Its face is colorless at the base of the beak and eyes, with black spots drawn like a veins, also a great dark spot is seen at the top of his chest. The flat wings with two white bands that can be identified when in flight. This bird has long black legs used for running in the desert'. The Head of the Lut Desert Mrs. Zahra Rezaei Malakouti in regards to this bird said: 'The Blond Crow lives in the arid and semi arid areas of Iran and is the only Endomic Bird in Iran. This bird can be seen in the Lut Desert and Palm Groves of the Dehsalam Village and has to live in their habitat amenities. Its long and powerful legs of this bird is good to run fast being agile on the uneven and shrub lands, and its long, curved beak is good to dig and excavate earth. Although this bird can fly but flies low, and has short flights, and mostly prefers to run on the ground. This bird is highly dependent on the Ghich Shrubs and they make their nests on the Ghich Shrub. This bird eats insects and seeds. Usually they lay 4 to 6 eggs in May, the female bird sleeps on the eggs and the male bird brings her food. Both male and female are involved in raising the chicks, which hatch after 17 to 19 days. This is a territorial bird and they store food beneath the dust. They do not have fear of people but usually keep a safe distance. The Blond Crow is completely adapted to the Desert situation and it cannot be seen in the other situations. The Ornithologists have considered this bird to be Native and an endemic species and has been attributed with the title of "The National Bird of Iran" '.
