The Historical Tarogh Mosque

The Historical Tarogh Mosque is located in the Tarogh Village 40 km from the Town of Nehbandan, what remains of the foundations of the Mosque consists of a Shabestan (coverage yard) with six thick square columns.

In the past, the Mosque had a courtyard entrance that has been demolished and instead new buildings have been built. This Mosque is architecturally quite similar to other Historic Mosques of this area, that include a yard is located between the columns with pointed arches and between the arches, a four section dome covers the area. The Mosque has a stone tablet on which is inscribed the date of its construction. The history of the building as slate comes from around 1658, it is dated to the end of the Safavi era.
