The Dorokhsh and Asiyaban areas

The Dorokhsh and Asiyaban areas are located in villages with the same names in the Ghohestan District in the Town of Darmiyan, 70 Km on the axis of Birjand - Darmiyan –Zirkouh.

The area is a specified rural district, as one of the oldest villages of the County of Southern Khorasan. The name of Dorokhsh is derived from an ancient and Dorokhah means brightness, radiance and brilliance. The importance of the region in terms of historical and cultural attractions, although having trees, gardens and a lustrous green area and in the summer is somewhat invigorated, therefore, it is more historically attractive.
The most important historical cultural attractions in this district are the Dorokhsh Mosque from the Safavi era and surrounding castles. The Old Dorokhsh Castle is located on a hill overlooking the village from the Ismailli era which is another historical building in this region.
